Throughout history, new technologies have changed the way we live, impacting everything from our homes to world politics. The studio acts as a thinktank and workshop, where design and designers play active roles in shaping the future. Studio Technogeographies is part of the bachelor programme at the Design Academy Eindhoven and was established in 2021. This exhibition presents design projects developed during the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024, with the theme 'industry' as a guide. In this, students have explored various observations, ranging from our bodies to software, and from the transformation of resources to control mechanisms.

In the autumn of 2024, fourth-year students who follow the focus module Textiles at the Design Academy Eindhoven will be able to realise a project in collaboration with the Lab's product developers. Research, experimentation and design are central to the work at the TextielLab and the students are offered a wide spectrum of both traditional and new techniques and materials. They use the industrial machines and work with the experienced product developers to develop prototypes, as do the professional users of the Textiel Lab. They also get feedback on their design from the yarn specialist, the curator and the librarian of the museum. In this way, they not only get an insight into the professional world of the Lab, but can also make use of the other expertise present in the TextielMuseum.
