Helsinki Analog Festival 2026 -
Handmade Books Exhibition

April 1st-26th 2026 At Oodi Helsinki Central Library,
Helsinki, Finland
(group exhibition during Helsinki Analog Festival 2026)

Books selected from an international open call that received nearly 600 submissions, with 43 works chosen for the exhibition from Finland to Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, and across Europe, showcasing the vibrant and global practice of contemporary handmade publishing. After the exhibition, the selected works will be donated to the public collection of the Rikhardinkatu Library Artist’s Book Collection.

Curated by Natalia Kopkina and Hikari Nishida,
Organised by Finnish Darkroom Association

Handmade Books Exhibition at Helsinki Central Library Oodi brings together artist books and experimental publications that understand the book as a bodily, shared action rather than just an object to read. The exhibition focuses on small editions instead of unique works and highlights diverse techniques and approaches, often playful and low-cost ways of making and publishing books where materials and methods are part of the meaning. These books invite touch, movement, rearrangement, and time. Leporellos, loose pages, boxes, punched holes, and open bindings turn reading into navigation, making the book a space and reading a physical act. Embodiment is not only a theme but a condition of how these works are made and experienced.

DAE Graduation Show 2025

October 2025 At Microlab,
Eindhoven, The Netherlands
(group exhibition during DDW)

Projects by BA and MA graduates of Design Academy Eindhoven

Project by Victoire Coustilieres additionally shown as part of the Assembly of Diversity, the first curated BIPOC tour of graduate projects at the DAE Graduation Show

The Graduation Show pulses with urgency this year. Across objects, spaces, films, performances and experiences, the exhibition forms a responsive, rhythmic landscape—alive with materials in motion and ideas in flux. Works vibrate, rotate and unfold over time; others invite touch, talk or collaboration. Together, they reveal design as a living environment of shifting tempos, materials and perspectives—restless, communicative and deeply entangled with environments, technologies, bodies and the unsettled conditions of contemporary life.

Autovitesse is hosting the new generation of design academy graduates We are showcasing work from our 4 years in design aswell as our second graduation projects. The work ranges from prints, furniture, ceramics, lighting and tapestries, to video and publications. The past years we studied under designers like Kiki and Joost, developing projects through material exploration and technique binding with a hands on approach and a critical eye for research. Through this approach we each developped our own design process, techniques, material combinations and projects we would like to display. We are exhibiting this project at art space Autovitesse. We will display our work there and they will react to the work with their interpretation from their archive. This could be books, art or film, showing the similarities and differences of art and design. Participating designers are: Emma Werkhoven, Jelmer Nijp, Rupert Jasper, Victoire Shade Coustilieres, Theun Nouwens and David Garib. In collaboration with Huis Henk Visch.
